With COVID-19 changing life as we know it, we’ve all been forced to take a closer look at ourselves and see where and how we can improve on our overall wellbeing. Here are a few ways that you can stay healthy and positive over this time of uncertainty.

Get a good night’s sleep

Many of us will be having strange dreams and finding that our sleep is getting interrupted. When we don’t get enough restful sleep, our focus, moods and immunity can become compromised. To make sure you’re getting enough sleep, we suggest no screen time before bed. Instead, try reading a book or meditating. Getting into bed at a reasonable hour is also advised, instead of binge-watching series.

Be mindful of what you eat

Plan your meals, grocery lists and even snacks in between. Whilst you might be tempted by your mood to eat junk food, rather take in nutritious foods instead. These will help you stay healthy and feeling at your best. Studies have also shown that processed foods like sugar can harm the immune system. Wherever possible eat healthy, balanced and fresh meals.

Don’t let your fitness slip

Now is not the time to get lazy. If anything, it’s a time to take even better care of yourself. Especially if you’re working from home, taking a break to get some fresh air and exercise is important for your body and mind. You can take free online classes, go for a walk or even do some yoga. The benefits of keeping your body active at a time like this will have tremendous benefits for your health and your mood.

Try not to worry too much

Yes, this is a stressful time but adding worry into the equation won’t help matters. When all you can do is control your own mindset, make sure that yours is a healthy one. practice positive thinking, positive doing and most of all, be kind to yourself. We’re all in this together.
